What's So Funny?

Sea BreezesWe are laughing all the time now. There is a good reason. Her name is Pippin, and she is a first class clown, also known as an English Cocker Spaniel, almost six months old, puppy.

I should be sad. I have written two dog obituaries in the past several months. The dogs were my "bestest" friends, Trooper and Toby, and I miss them so much. God put a hairy bundle of energy into my dog loving arms to take their place-but not replace them.

Thanks to God's perfect timing, I find myself laughing at the antics of Pippin. How did she know the toilet paper rolls out behind her when she grabs a small peice and runs through the house? I found myself laughing when I went to iron my new little white sweater and found not one, but two holes, perfectly placed and perfectly holes.

It is at this point readers, that you must be thinking, I would not want that going on in my house, that destructive little puppy. Well, you gotta see her. She is soooo cute and constantly happy. She is learning and trying hard to get it right. She is already gotten housebroken, so what is a sweater and some toilet paper through the living room? Her stub of a tail wags from the time she gets up....uh...5 am....until bedtime. She makes me walk every day. Putting in a full day, with exercise with a fun friend is not all bad. She also is a couch potato. She loves to watch TV and read. This breed loves water. I love water. So, all in all, she is fitting in very well. Enjoy the face that always puts a smile on mine.

Come Holy Spirit, Come

Sea BreezesToday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the Christian church. We were reminded that the disciples and those with them received the gift of God's Holy Spirit. We were reminded that we have all received the Holy Spirit as a gift to be with us in our walk in this life. He is wisdom, and comfort and healing. He prays for us when we know not what or cannot pray for ourselves.

Our dear daughter-in-law Tonya has started her chemo, and she is very ill. My heart is aching for her and my spirit knows not what to pray. I am so thankful, for her, that while I am dealing with this aching heart and confused spirit, that the Holy Spirit, with His wisdom, is praying on my behalf and comforting dear Tonya. This day, bring her peace.

Like the murmur of the dove's song,
Like the ceaseless voice of prayer;
With a power to love and witness;
With a peace beyond compare.
Come Holy Spirit, come.

Amen and amen.

Trooper "Big Mutt" Sartin

Sea BreezesTrooper "Big Mutt" Sartin of Darien, GA passed away from this earth quietly and peacefully yeterday afternoon at the vet's office in McItosh County, Georgia.. His mom, Phyllis, dad, Harold and new puppy, Pippin were by his side. He was preceded in death by his best buddy and companion, Toby "Sweet Boy" Sartin. Trooper was the son of mutts and was at least 16 years old. He sustained injuries when his mom hit him in the yard with the truck.

Trooper had never been sick a day in his life. He loved getting into garbage, and he loved riding in a car. He could do 12 tricks, but he could not respond to "come". He spent his early years breaking out of the backyard, chasing cars and joggers, and yowling in front of neighborhood houses in the night. The neighbors would come out, he would hide, and when they were fast asleep again, he would start all over. He hated cats, but loved other dogs. He was popular and made friends in every neighborhood he ever lived in. He loved his stuffed "quirrel."He leaves his current friends Cassi, Nemo, and Blondie.
He leaves his mom, Phyllis, his dad, Harold, and his new best friend, Pippin.

He will be cremated. His family asks that you any donations be made to your local humane society.

Troop, old boy, this writer will miss you. You lived your last days like you wanted-a country dog on the front porch or laying in the driveway dirt.

Being A New Mom Is Tough

Sea Breezes Here I am, being a new Mom, again. Pippin is keeping me hopping. At five o'clock sharp in the morning, we hit the pavement walking for thirty minutes. After our walk, it is breakfast, lap time, play time, lap time, playtime...I fit in getting ready for work...potty time...crate time...off to work. After work, we hit the pavement for another 30 minute walk. Puppies need their exercise, Moms also. She is a doll. Again, I am always amazed at how God's creatures bring joy, peace, and wholeness to our lives, even in the midst of life's trials and struggles. Thank you God for all creatures, great and small. You made them all.

Pippin Is Here!!

Sea BreezesPippin is here!! We drove five hours down to Venice Beach, FL to pick up our English Cocker Spaniel girl puppy. She is a beauty! She is a blue roan and is five months old. Her pedigree is unreal, her grandmother was Best in Breed at Westminster. She was not perfect for the show ring because she her bite is not perfect. Oh well, she is perfect to us. We love her. Get ready for a few blogs about Pippin. Her AKC Name is Dickens Miss Pippin Willow. We will not breed her or show her. She is for us to love. What a mother's day present I got. Thank you dear Husband. He told me, I deservered her! I have never met a sweeter dog. Welcome home, Pippin. You are a love.

Dearest Lord

Sea BreezesDearest Lord,

I am taking you up on one of your promises.

You said, "Anything you ask, in my name, believing, you will receive."

I have got the qualifier, Father, believing. We are a body of believers, we who love Tonya. There is a big body of us, all over the country. We are asking, in your Holy name, to heal Tonya, body, mind and soul."

Thank you dearest Lord, for your this healing. We lay Tonya at your Holy feet, in your Holy name, in your loving arms. We ask for the healing of the Holy Spirit on her.

Glorify thy name, glorify thy name in all the earth.

In the name of Christ, our only mediator and advocate.

Amen.

Love and praise,
Those who love Tonya
