Dear Tonya,

Sea BreezesDear Tonya,
You will be having your surgery in the morning. I want you to know that our hearts and our prayers go into that operating room with you, asking God to cover you with His protection and His healing hand. We pray for the doctors and nurses to guide their hands and actions, each step of this way. We pray for Blake, our dear grandchildren and for your parents and family. We pray against the cancer that has tried to set its ugly self in your body. You are a member of the body of Christ, and that cancer must leave, in the name of our Savior, we take a stand against it and demand its leave.

We love you and pray you a speedy recovery.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Love,

MeMe and Pops

Good Friday Day of A Cross

Sea BreezesMy husband got up this morning and announced we would skip Good Friday services at church today. We are too tired. We have been in East Tennessee for several days loving grand babies and their parents. Tonya had surgery. We lost sleep in worry. We still don't know test results. We still worry. Katie and babies came yesterday, and we went to the beach, all day. Last night we had dinner on the island with dear friends. Today, I am home ;Harold is at work. Therefore, we are tired. We will skip church, although there are three services offered today at our little church. Then my husband called. He was on his way to work, and coming around the bend in his big truck, the front tire blew, not went flat, but exploded. Had I been driving, I would have surely wrecked. We drove that truck to Tennessee, no flat, no explosion on the interstate. But today, when he was driving, it happened. He was safe. He is a big guy, who has spent the last 20 years of his life in the tire business, and he instinctively knew what to do. He was fine. The big Ford truck came to a stop...in front of an African American Baptist church. A simple cross. A reminder..Good Friday. He got to work and told his office staff, maybe he was reminded to go to church today. Thus, his call to me. We will be at Good Friday services this evening at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Will we go for us? No, we will go for Him. He went to the cross for us. It is the Least we can do for Him. Oh Father, please lead us today to know the MOST we can do for You. Lead our hearts to offer thanksgiving for your healing powers for Tonya, our dear daughter-in-love, precious mother of precious grandchildren. Pardon my tears today, but the creator of the universe sent His only son to the cross to die for my sins, and "I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under His table."

What love is this, that loves me so fully? Bless you all dear readers. May the cross speak to your heart today.
